Group 2, Kaitlyn Terry, Project 1

  1. Kaitlyn, Your use of camera angles and balance of light and darker areas of your photos are consistent with lines that flow pleasantly as well! Now that we have done some critiquing with Professor Livingston on board, I might find the addition of the sky in the middle photo to contrast their unity; I do like the red area, the cell tower and the circle in the bottom left corner in the third photo add to a unity of your triptych.

  2. I really like the use of patterns and lines in your pictures. I agree with Doris, about the red area on your second picture, it gives somewhere to finish when wandering my eyes. The only thing distracting me is the first picture the bottom left corner that little area for some reason draws me to keep looking down there when not necessary. But great picture for our first project!

  3. Hey Kaitlyn! Great use of leading lines. Your use of patterns appears to be very intentional and makes your triptych very aesthetically pleasing. While I do also like the difference of color combination you used in your set, I personally think that they are too contrasting architecturally to be considered a set. Maybe try sticking with different elements of one of the structures. Good job overall though! Really good images.

  4. Hey Kaitlyn! I love the lines in the first two- they feel very similar. I agree with Shannie about that little bottom section in the first pic. You could probably crop that out and it would feel like the lines are more prominent. I think the last one would be really interesting if you got under it!

  5. Great job using your leading lines. I am glad that you did not take the color out of your original photos. I think that all three of your photos are great in terms of texture and originality. I am not entirely sure that they go together but it could be because I do not have them set beside each other full scale.
